Christchurch store marks new era in business retail for OfficeMax

OfficeMax’s new flagship store in Blenheim Road Christchurch officially opens its doors today, creating a landmark destination for interactive business retail and is the first in the OfficeMax workspace concept.

The store is part retail and part showroom; OfficeMax workspace allows customers to visualise their work space with the very latest in office furniture, technology and business supplies, as well as providing a central place for people to conduct business – all as part of the OfficeMax service.

Customers will be invited to make use of the available collaborative areas and a meeting room, where they can book to use as an extension of their own business – to run staff meetings in a fresh environment, conduct business meetings in a fully-equipped room or to facilitate presentations in an impressive space. The space includes the latest in audio-visual technology and high speed Wi-Fi access.

Other necessities haven’t been forgotten and the selection of stationery, packaging, first aid, safety equipment, and cleaning and hygiene products is second-to-none. Also featured is a fully interactive coffee area, where customers can road test a range of coffee machines and enjoy the café experience from start to finish.

OfficeMax National Retail Manager Peter Barton said the new store represented a new era in business retail.

“We see this new store as the first step in our interactive retail future,” he said.

“We want to offer our customers the very best in-store experience. Gone are the days of queuing up and feeling rushed when shopping for your business.

“The OfficeMax workspace store encourages you to relax with a coffee, use our free Wi-Fi and shop for everything from stationery and cleaning supplies, to chairs, printers and other technology.

“We have noticed many people take into account new trends when furnishing their workspaces.  We have developed a furniture range with this in mind, curating pieces that are both stylish and which focus on flexible innovative design.

“We hope to roll out a similar interactive experience across our OfficeMax stores – the feedback we’ve had from customers already is that they love the new look and concept.”

Expert OfficeMax staff can demonstrate a range of products in-store, while customers can enjoy a coffee and take the time to experience what’s on offer.

The opening is the 17th store for OfficeMax in New Zealand, which provides quality stationery and office products for customers to be their best at work, school or home.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, OfficeMax is holding a Grand Opening Sale on December 2 and 3. The store is at 455 Blenheim Road, Sockburn, Christchurch, and is open 8am–5pm weekdays and 9.30am–1.30pm Saturdays.
