OfficeMax has awarded six Kiwi kids a combination of cash and Sharpie prize packs as part of the Term 3 Colour Your Classroom competition.

New Zealand’s leading stationery and office supplier, OfficeMax, encourages children to showcase their creativity with its bi-annual Colour Your Classroom Competition.

Through Terms 2 and 3 students are posed with the opportunity to respond to a creative brief, which is either in response to a question or by colouring an image, all with the chance to win some fantastic OfficeMax prizes.

The Term 3 competition saw more than 800 entries, with students answering the question, ‘Who inspires you most in your life, and why?’, encouraging entrants to tell the stories of who they draw inspiration from in their lives.

The winners included intermediate school student, Joella McIntosh; and five primary school students, Sylvia Roper, Aidan Campbell, Dylan Clark, Louenne Allemand and Galaxie Whatarau.

Each prize pack consisted of $250 worth of Sharpie, Paper Mate and Dymo products and $750 cash. Each student also received a Sharpie Fine 24-Pack valued at $54.99.

OfficeMax New Zealand’s National Manager of Education, Blair Horsfall said the six students showcased an incredibly high standard of writing in their submissions.

“We were so impressed by not only the standard of writing, but the sentiment that so many students shared when writing their entries,” he said.

“We saw stories about family members, sporting coaches and even historical figures, with kids describing a wide variety of qualities which made these figures important and inspirational to them, which was wonderful to see.”

Colour Your Classroom judge and Newell account manager Mark Norling said this year’s writing competition was extremely popular, with many entries submitted from children around the country.

“The question this year allowed many kids to get creative and involved – the entries we received were of a really high standard, which was very pleasing,” he said.
