New Zealand's response to the COVID-19 pandemic catapulted our country into true flexible working mode almost overnight. In 2020 the office was wherever you could find space - in the corner of a bedroom, on the kitchen table or high in the hill country on the bonnet of your ute.

At OfficeMax we sprang into action, helping to keep Kiwis safe and connected with everything from PPE gear for essential workers to packaging solutions for businesses now trading online.

And for kids going through tough times, we sponsor '0800 What's Up' so they can share their problems with trained counsellors on a free helpline.

Auckland Distribution Centre

Auckland - We value innovation

Our state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in Auckland has just been extended to create 22,000 sqm of hi-tech efficiency - allowing us to take our industry-leading service to a whole new level.

It will feature cutting edge technology like automated carton erectors and robotics to reduce void fill, and real-time tracking that allows us to tell you exactly where your order is at any moment - all part of our delivery promise to our customers.

We're planning to top the Distribution Centre off with an impressive bank of solar panels which will provide 22.5% of power we use.

Christchurch Distribution Centre

We're about to have a new home in Christchurch

We are moving our Christchurch Distribution Centre to a purpose-built warehouse in the new IPort Business Park, strategically located in Rolleston and fast becoming the transport hub for the whole of the South Island.

So, not only will we be able to keep transportation to a minimum, the building itself will be more energy efficient, with low level power functionality and an all-electric mechanical handling fleet, making gas powered machines a thing of the past.

At almost twice the size of our current centre, our new Christchurch home will be able to hold more product in one location, while having the ability to directly receive inbound containers.

The project is on track for completion in early 2021.
