Sustainability is part of the overall vision at OfficeMax and has been integrated throughout our business strategy to help deliver our vision to 'Empower sustainable and successful workplaces'.

This strategy demonstrates our commitment to helping New Zealand reach its potential over the long term. It establishes a framework for our core focus areas, goals and targets, to help us achieve our three aspirational strategic goals.

Certifications

We participate in external audits, gain certifications for our systems and comply with legislative requirements.
These certifications include:

ISO 14001
OfficeMax has been certified since 2011. This international standard specifies requirements
for an effetive environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that helps
us reduce our environmental impact. Prior to ISO 14001 certification, OfficeMax was Enviro-Mark®
NZ Diamond certified from 2009. 

Environmental Choice New Zealand
OfficeMax sells a number of OfficeMax brand products that are Environmental Choice licensed.
This eco-label identifies a product as less harmful to the environment. Our licences go through
an annual audit. 

Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) License: FSC-C147711
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international non-profit organisation committed to
responsible forest management through rigorous standard setting. FSC® certification ensures
environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests.

2021 Sustainability Report
