Elemental Chlorine Free: The pulp used to make the paper product has been bleached without the use of chlorine gas. Pulp is bleached with chlorine dioxide, which substantially reduces toxic emissions
Process Chlorine Free: The pulp used to make the paper product has avoided the use of all chlorine in the bleaching process.
Totally Chlorine Free: The pulp used to make the paper product has been bleached, avoiding the use of all chlorine, and toxic organochlorine emissions.
Made from Polypropylene: Polypropylene provides a safe alternative to product options made from PVC.
% Recycled Board Content: Indicates the percentage of recycled waste used in the manufacturing of the board within a product.
Refurbishable Chair: Indicates chair can be re-upholstered and re-used or that some or most of the components can be recycled. Contact OfficeMax to arrange collection of the chair. Delivery charges will apply.
% Recycled Content: Indicates the percentage of recycled content used in the manufacturing of a product.

Environmental Accreditation Icons
Blue Angel: One of the oldest Type 1 ecolabels* in the world known for its high standards.
New Zealand's national Type 1 ecolabel*: It is owned by the New Zealand government and run independently by the New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust. Products carrying the Environmental Choice logo have been independently audited to meet published specifications which require reduction of a range of environmental impacts over the product life cycle (www.enviro-choice.org.nz).
EU Ecolabel: The European Ecolabel is a Type 1* ecolabel for the European Commission member countries, and distinguishes products that meet high standards of both performance and environmental quality.
Fairtrade Certified: An alternative model of conventional trade which offers farmers and workers in developing countries a better deal and improved terms of trade - an opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future.
Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®): Recognition that the product has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This ensures that the materials within the paper can be verified as being sourced from responsible sources which means that environmental and social benefits are maintained. FSC TradeMark® 1996 Forest Stewardship Council A.C., FSC-AUS-0013.
Nordic Swan: The certification sets stringent environmental standards focused on limiting the detrimental impact of the manufacturing process by reducing emissions, raw material usage and energy consumption.
Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification: Certification that assures buyers that the wood and paper products they are purchasing come from forests that comply with the in-country sustainable forestry standards approved by an international body.
Rainforest Alliance is an independent seal of approval which ensures that goods and services were produced in compliance with strict guidelines protecting the environment, wildlife, workers and local communities.
Supplier is Enviro-Mark® NZ Certified: Indicates the supplier has gained an Enviro-Mark® NZ certification to the standard depicted. Enviro-Mark® NZ is an independently audited evaluation of an organisation's environmental management performance. This is a step-wise programme (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond) leading at the top level to eligibility for the ISO 1400:2004 certification.
UTZ Certified is a worldwide sustainability programme that gives independent assurance of responsible production and sourcing, enabling everyone in the coffee chain to demonstrate their commitment to making the coffee sector more sustainable.
World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO): The global representative body of over 450 fair trade organisations committed to global best practice. It is the only global network whose members represent the fair trade chain from production to sale. The WFTO has created ten key principles that fair trade organisations work to and through monitoring ensure these standards are being met. The certification is not product-based; it is an organisational label.

These ecolabels indicate that products carrying them are more environmentally sustainable over a range of impact areas than other products of the same type which cannot be shown to meet equivalent standards.
